A law just past (I voted against it) that amends the missoui constitution to BAN gay marrage. This is one issues I have been against for EVER. I think that if 2 PEOPLE wish to get married they should be able to any time and anyplace they want. This amendment is nothing more than state wide Gay bashing and last tiem I checked, that was a hate crime and hate crimes are Illigal. I HATE living in a place that is run by bible thumping, paranoid, inbreed, readnecks that have too much money and not enogh brains.
I want to be able to raise my son in a place where you don't have to be afraid of what people think of you if your diffrent.

Same county that was the host for the infamous Scopes monkey trial way back when

God that is amazingly stupid!! With all the poverty and crime and drugs and other social issues, like plummeting educational scores for our kids, etc., facing this country why in the Hell should anyone care about 2 people of the same sex getting "married"?!
There are so many broken homes, kids who never even get a chance to know both parents, divorce rate (and that would currently be 100% credited to heterosexuals you iggit lawmakers!!) through the roof.... I think a loving home/relationship between two consenting adults should be encouraged, not discouraged.
And slightly veering off course here, I just love it (<== extreme sarcasm) when people say gay couples shouldn't be able to adopt because they'll make the kids gay. Um, where do you think gay people come from in the first place morons?!?!?! <u>Straight</u> parents!!! Obviously there's a serious flaw in their logic.

The dumb thing about all this is that marriage is a RELIGIOUS institution. Government should have nothing to do with it. If you have no religious affiliation, civil unions, which allow gay or straight couples to take advantage of government controlled benefits, should be allowed. If a certain religion (like Christianity) doesn't support gay relationships, well that's just how it is. But the Government should have nothing morally to say about that in a society that promotes freedom of religion.

I say ban marriage altogether. Look at it this way. Do you really need to get marrige to prove your lover that you do indeedlove them? No. Just live together and presto, instant marriage. Seriously thought, who gives a frock about who getting marry to who. The ban gay marriage law really defeat the purpose of freedom of speech and the civil rights amendment. Also this law is giving American a bad rep.

Not as far as I'm concerned you're not. You're 1000% right on point! That's why you'll notice I put the word "married" in quotes. It shouldn't be a legal/gov't issue. If your religion has issues with it, fine. But there is this little thing called separation of church and state in this country. [img]wink.gif[/img]
